Psalm 139
Before I speak a word, You know what I will say.
You see me when I sit or rise; You watch me all the day.
You know my every thought; You understand my ways.
You search me and You know me, Lord, through all my nights and days.
Where can I go from Your Spirit?
(Your Spirit…)
Where can I flee from Your love?
(From Your love…)
If I rise up to the heavens
Or make my bed below,
You are there, You are there
(You are there…)
Wherever I may go.
If I could take the wings and fly out to the sea,
Even there Your hand would guide, Your right hand holding me.
If darkness tries to hide me, it shines just like the day,
For darkness is not dark to You; You see me anyway.
You knit me in my mother's womb;
You made me who I am.
I'm fearfully and wonderfully made
By Your loving hand.
You saw me before I was born;
Every moment in Your hand.
How precious are Your thoughts to me —
More than I understand.
More than I understand…
Where can I go from Your Spirit?
Where can I flee from Your love?
If I rise up to the heavens
Or make my bed below,
You are there, You are there,
You are there,
Wherever I may go.
Search me, O God, and know my heart today.
(Know my heart…)
Test me and know my anxious thoughts, I pray.
(I pray…)
See if there is any wicked way in me;
Lead me in the way everlasting.
Set me free.
(Set me free…)
