4. The Promise of Comfort

Transcript

Jesus: "Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted."

Narrator: Everyone feels sad or upset sometimes. When we are hurting, Jesus makes a special promise: He will comfort those who are sad.

This promise from Jesus in Matthew 4:4 isn't just about feeling better quickly. It's about finding strength and support when we're really upset. Jesus understands our pain and tells us we're not alone.

When we're sad - maybe because we've lost something, things didn't go as we hoped, or we see unfair things happening - Jesus doesn't tell us to just "cheer up." Instead, He comes to be with us in our sadness.

His comfort is more than just kind words. It's like a big, loving hug that helps us heal, gives us hope, and makes us strong enough to keep going. It reminds us that God sees our pain, counts our tears, and holds our hearts with love.

Today, if you're feeling really sad about something, remember you're not alone. It's okay to feel sad, and when you do, Jesus is there to comfort you. If you're not feeling sad right now, think about how you can comfort someone else who is having a hard time.

May you feel Jesus comforting you when you're sad, and may it bring you peace and new hope.

God bless you.
